Job Description

The Waste Control Division currently has a vacancy for a motivated, professional, and organized Transport Controller to join their team. The primary purpose of the Transport Controller is to assist with organizing the logistics of Waste Control operations to ensure smooth functioning and that client requirements are met.

Responsibilities

1. Manage daily transport service requirements.
2. Plan accurately daily operations and utilize resources effectively.
3. Conduct daily briefings and debriefings with drivers.
4. Plan daily vehicle routing and scheduling.
5. Monitor and track vehicles daily.
6. Maintain high customer service levels.
7. Ensure the fleet is roadworthy and complies with company branding and cleanliness policies.
8. Supervise drivers and general assistants effectively.
9. Manage discipline, punctuality, and attendance of drivers and assistants.
10. Communicate and report using various platforms as required.
11. Liaise with Human Resources regarding staff issues.
12. Ensure adherence to Occupational Health and Safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 or equivalent.
• Previous fleet controlling experience is advantageous.
• Transport Management or similar qualification is advantageous.
• Proven leadership ability; must lead by example.
• Code 14 driver’s license and PrDP are advantageous.
• Basic computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Office).
• Knowledge of vehicle tracking systems.
