Duties & Responsibilities

INYAMEKO, an employer of choice within the transport industry, is looking for a Contracts Manager based in Durban, KZN. The core function of this position is overseeing, negotiating, and managing contracts within the company, ensuring compliance with legal standards, optimizing contract performance, and supporting sustainable business growth. The key responsibilities for this position are:

  • Contract Creation and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts with clients and vendors to ensure favorable terms and compliance with legal requirements.
  • Contract Management: Monitor and manage contracts throughout their lifecycle from initiation to completion or renewal, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations.
  • Risk Assessment: Evaluate contracts for potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them, ensuring all agreements align with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with various departments including legal, finance, and operations to develop contracts that support business goals and address issues during the contract lifecycle.
  • Compliance Monitoring: Ensure all contracts comply with relevant laws and regulations, conducting research as necessary to stay updated on legislative changes.
  • Communication: Serve as the primary contact for contract-related inquiries, clarifying terms and conditions with stakeholders.
  • Business Development: Contribute to bringing in new business and ensuring sustainable growth.
  • Qualifications: A degree in law, business administration, or a related field is preferred. Certification in contract management is advantageous.
  • Experience: Proven experience as a Contracts Manager or similar role, with a strong understanding of contract law and legal requirements.
  • Skills: Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills, high attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and proficiency in MS Office and contract management software.
