A specialized transport division is seeking an experienced Transport Business Development Manager in Bloemfontein. The role involves expanding the client portfolio and driving revenue growth through strategic market analysis, client relationship management, and negotiation of transport contracts. Direct Link, the specialized transport division of SA Truck Bodies, seeks an experienced Transport Business Development Manager to expand our client portfolio and drive revenue growth. We offer comprehensive transport solutions across South Africa and cross-border into Namibia, Zambia, Botswana, and Mozambique.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and execute strategies to acquire new transport contracts and business opportunities
• Build and maintain strong relationships with potential and existing clients through regular engagement
• Conduct market analysis and identify profitable transport opportunities
• Negotiate competitive rates and contracts while maintaining profitable margins
• Understand and calculate vehicle operating costs to determine accurate pricing
• Monitor industry trends and adapt business strategies accordingly
• Collaborate with operations team to ensure service delivery excellence
• Maintain detailed records of sales activities and client interactions
• Achieve specified revenue and growth targets
• Prepare and present professional transport solution proposals
Required Qualifications & Experience:
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or related field
• Minimum 5 years experience in transport sales or business development
• Proven track record in securing new business in the road freight industry
• In-depth knowledge of the South African transport sector
• Valid driver's license
• Existing industry network advantageous
