Transactional Projects Lawyer – Senior Associate with 6-8 YRS PQE – Johannesburg

Brief

We are currently looking to recruit a Senior Associate Lawyer with 6-8 years PQE to join the Finance and Projects team of Pinsent Masons LLP in Johannesburg.

Background

The role is within the Finance & Projects team based in Johannesburg. The team mainly focuses on infrastructure and energy sector projects. Key responsibilities include reviewing and drafting project agreements such as concession, PPP, power purchase, construction, operation and maintenance, equipment supply, and direct agreements. Familiarity with reviewing and drafting consortium/shareholder agreements and procurement documents for public sector clients is essential. A basic understanding of project finance and sector legislation is also important.

Key Statutes and Legal Frameworks

Candidates should be familiar with statutes like PFMA, MFMA, PPPFA, the Promotion of Administrative Justice Act, the Promotion of Access to Information Act, the Electricity Regulation Act, Water Services Act, among others. Candidates with a public law background are encouraged to apply.
