Job summary

Standard Bank Group in Johannesburg seeks a Product Control Specialist in Transaction Banking within Investor Services Product, CIB Finance. You will contribute to a scalable control-led capability across Africa, ensuring balance sheet substantiation and robust month-end processes.

The role requires a Post Graduate Degree, CA (SA), CFA or CIMA and 3–4 years in product control/finance with SAP, GBM, Finacle, or T24, plus IFRS expertise and strong risk controls.

Qualifications

• 3–4 years product control/finance experience in transaction banking or CIB.
• 3–4 years Africa Regions exposure or multi-country finance experience.
• 3–4 years experience with accounting systems including SAP and GBM, Finacle, T24.
• 3–4 years IFRS knowledge with balance sheet substantiation, P&L, reconciliations and controls.

Responsibilities

• Reconcile and substantiate monthly balance sheet and annual external audit numbers.
• Define and influence change projects to improve month-end reporting and controls.
• Assess risk of on- and off-balance-sheet exposures in line with policy.
• Support process documentation and automation initiatives.
