About the role
- The Transaction and Estate Management Team Leader will oversee a team of skilled Transaction and Estate Managers responsible for the day-to-day management of a large corporate portfolio across South Africa.
- Serving as the Team Leader for all transaction and estate management activities in your region, this role demands leadership, oversight, and close collaboration with the wider team to ensure transactions are complete and estate management activities are delivered successfully across both the retail and commercial sectors.
What you will bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Facilities Management, Business, Finance, or related fields.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in real estate transaction and estate management, preferably with multinational clients.
- Experience in account management, with strong commercial acumen.
- Strong team leadership skills.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to manage processes.
- Ability to operate in high-pressure environments.
- Familiarity with technology-driven solutions for real estate management.
- Fluency in English.
What you will be doing
You will be supported by your team to successfully deliver in two key areas :
Transaction Management :
- Oversee all regional property transactions for the Client, ensuring efficient, accurate, and compliant service delivery. Key responsibilities include securing and renewing leases, mitigating risks, managing stakeholder relationships, and leading lease negotiations.
- Conduct market assessments, financial analysis, and site inspections, ensuring adherence to policies and legal standards, and monitoring critical lease events to prevent operational disruptions. The role also involves financial accountability for missed deadlines or failures.
- Provide strategic oversight of estate management, including handling tenant and landlord inquiries, offering estate advice, and overseeing portfolio operations.
- Manage approvals, consents, permits, sanctions, insurance requirements, and supervise vacant and sub-let properties. Additionally, handle property acquisitions and disposals, and address rate objections.
- Lead and motivate teams in a dynamic corporate environment, ensuring transparency and integrity in all functions.
- Maintain high ethical standards in decision-making, financial management, and stakeholder engagement.
- Possess expertise in real estate acquisitions, leasing, and asset management.
- Engage effectively with clients and senior stakeholders, demonstrating excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Manage multiple tasks across diverse cultural and regional contexts with strong organizational and prioritization skills.
- Have an in-depth understanding of real estate risk management and compliance.
