Job summary

A leading company in the explosives sector seeks a Training Manager to manage and control all training activities ensuring alignment with company policies. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning training programs, supervising execution, and developing new training initiatives, while also managing the administrative and budgetary aspects of training. A strong background with proven experience in training, alongside relevant qualifications, is essential for this role.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in training or explosives environment.
  • Proven experience as Training Facilitator, Assessor, and Moderator is advantageous.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours if required.

Job description

What We Are Looking For

PURPOSE OF THE JOB: Management and control of all training activities according to company policy and project guidelines, within the constraints of time and cost. Liaise between clients and training institutions. Ensure all training aids, course materials, and relevant logistics are properly planned and available well in advance. Facilitate training courses and conduct assessments. Identify needs for changes in existing course modules and modify as necessary. Monitor training results and recommend new approaches, techniques, and programmes.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan, organize, lead, and control training programmes presented by RDM Academy, aligning them with company policies, schedules, and procedures.
  2. Supervise the execution of training programmes by monitoring training personnel, workflow, daily activities, and resources.
  3. Manage training administration by moderating results, compiling reports, and reviewing training materials and assessments.
  4. Identify opportunities to develop new training programmes and materials to support new business and improve client satisfaction based on feedback.
  5. Coordinate and monitor logistical and administrative support for clients in line with contract requirements.
  6. Provide budgetary inputs for planning and controlling training programmes, ensuring resource supply aligns with planned expenditures.

Qualifications

  • National Senior Certificate or NQF 4 technical qualification.
  • Occupational Directed Education, Training and Development (ODETDP) qualification.
  • NQF 6 in Explosives Management or equivalent is advantageous.
  • Proven experience as a Training Facilitator, Assessor, and Moderator is advantageous.
  • Qualifications and/or short courses in Explosives and Ammunition are advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in training or explosives environment.
  • Experience in manufacturing and/or use of explosives and ammunition, preferably in a supervisory role, is advantageous.
  • Experience in developing training and technical documentation is advantageous.
  • Advanced computer skills with at least 5 years’ experience in Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Proficiency in written and verbal English communication.
  • Willingness to travel and work flexible hours if required.
