Job summary

A leading security training company in Pretoria is seeking a qualified candidate to conduct theoretical and practical security training. The successful applicant will need to hold a minimum of Grade 12 and various instructor registrations, including PSIRA and SASSETA. Key responsibilities include managing training records and fostering discipline among security officers. Candidates must have at least five years of experience in a security training environment and possess a clean record. This role may require weekend work and travel.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a security training department.
• Own vehicle, Driver’s License and PDP.
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record.

Job description

The suitable candidate’s main responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Conduct theoretical and practical security training
• Training administration including accurate record keeping
• Conducting of SASSETA, PSIRA, and in-house training programs
• Encourage a strong sense of discipline amongst BPC Security Officers,
• Ensure training interventions as required by legislation and the relevant control bodies

Preferred qualifications/attributes/skills:

• Grade 12 or equivalent qualification
• Registered grade A PSIRA instructor
• SASSETA registered assessor and moderator
• PFTC registered firearm instructor for business purposes – Handgun, Rifle and Shotgun
• Registered National Key Point instructor
• Knowledge and understanding of the relevant legislation
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a security training department
• Ability to work as a team
• Must be able to work weekends when required
• Residence close to the training centre would be advantageous
• Must be prepared to travel as and when required
• Own vehicle, Driver’s License and PDP
• Clean disciplinary, criminal and credit record
