Job description

Training and Demonstration Chef requiredin Johannesburg.

We are currently recruiting for a Training and Demonstration Chef for a Catering Supplies Company based in Johannesburg to play a crucial role in showcasing their equipment through hands-on demonstrations, product training, menu implementation and customer engagement.

This position supports the Sales Team as well as clients with product knowledge, innovation and professional culinary guidance.

Salary: R20 000 – R26 000 per month.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Train Clients & Staff on correct and efficient use of Equipment
  • Conduct live demonstrations for customer and industry events.
  • Develop, test, and refine recipes suited to commercial kitchen solutions.
  • Collaborate with the Sales Team to support product presentations and client meetings.
  • Assist in new equipment launches, roadshows, trade exhibitions and open days.
  • Provide after-sales culinary support and troubleshoot client challenges.
  • Maintain a deep understanding of industry trends, foodservice technology, and competitor products.

Requirements:

  • Culinary Qualification: Diploma or Degree in Professional Cookery
  • Experience: Minimum 5 years in commercial kitchen environment, preferably in a Senior CDP or JNR SOUS chef level.
  • Comfortable working with and learning about a wide range of commercial equipment.
  • Communication: Excellent presentation and interpersonal skills; Ability to train & inspire diverse audiences.
  • Creativity: Strong recipe development
  • Car / Driver’s License & Passport: Reliable & Trustworthy car with Valid Driver’s License &
  • Willingness to travel for demonstrations and training sessions.
  • Valid Passport

Preferred Attributes:

  • Experience in Culinary training or Demonstration Roles.
  • Confidence in Public Speaking or hosting live culinary events
  • A customer-first mindset and strong Teamwork Ethic
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
