Job description

Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Trainee Manager for their East Rand stores. You will learn overall store operations under the guidance of a store manager and perform a wide range of retail operational duties under supervision.

Minimum Requirements:

Essential:

  • Grade 12/Matric
  • 1-2 years’ experience in retail management, including stock management, cash handling, reporting, expense control, and customer service
  • Computer literacy in MS Office
  • Willing and able to work retail hours
  • Valid driver's license and own reliable transport

Advantageous:

  • Diploma in Financial/Administrative Studies or a relevant 3-year diploma

Job Responsibilities:

  • Inventory Management: Manage stock processes, stock takes, shrinkage, and stock levels; support stock ordering and stock flow to the sales floor.
  • Sales Floor & Receiving: Assist with promotional displays, labeling, pricing, receiving goods, and ensuring transaction integrity.
  • Sales Targets: Support achievement of sales targets, coordinate promotional activities, monitor market trends, and propose strategies for growth.
  • Point of Sale & Finance: Assist with cash-ups, expense monitoring, transaction accuracy, and internal/external audits.
  • Customer Service: Address customer complaints, support loyalty programs, and ensure customer feedback is addressed.
  • HR Support: Assist with leave management, staff scheduling, training, and HR system processes.
  • Trainee Program: Participate in learning activities, complete required assessments, and maintain documentation.

  • Knowledge of retail management and admin processes

  • Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities
