Trainee Laboratory Manager / Laboratory Technician - Meyerton (Gauteng)

An independent lubricant producer and waste oil re-refinery in Meyerton, Gauteng, is seeking a skilled professional (Laboratory Technician) to join their fast-moving production plant.

Skills and Requirements:
  • B.Sc. or BTech in Chemistry
  • 3–5 years of experience in a petroleum/lubricants lab environment with proven testing expertise
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Windows
  • Ability to manage teams and work independently
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Familiarity with tribology, Sage Evolution BOM, Bartender Label Designer, and customer support
Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct and oversee testing for production, R&D, and client samples
  • Oversee staff performance and ensure safety, quality, and compliance
  • Maintain and calibrate lab equipment; manage consumables and flammable materials
  • Lead improvements in lab processes, SOPs, and documentation systems
  • Handle SDS, TDS, and COA creation and updates for produced and supplied products
  • Manage retention samples, labeling systems, and BOM database updates
  • Deliver reports and provide technical support to internal departments and clients
