Zusammenfassung

Mr Price Group Limited seeks a Trainee Merchandise Buyer to support the Buyer in sourcing merchandise at the best price within the company’s strategy. The role forms part of a development program to train fully fledged Retail Merchandiser Buyers.

Responsibilities include collaborating to meet critical path deadlines, completing the development program to understand the full merchandise process, and assisting in analyzing current trade to propose opportunities to maximize sales and minimize risk.

Qualifikationen

• Degree or Diploma in Clothing management
• Degree or Diploma in Textiles
• Knowledge of current trends
• Numerical skills

Aufgaben

• Collaborate within the department to ensure that orders are placed timeously and critical path deadlines are met in order to achieve desired results for the department.
• Complete development program in order to understand the full merchandise process, product knowledge and critical path (e.g. product post mortem & strategy, supplier negotiations, assortment building, quality standards & fit process, product review, marketing, trends, etc.).
• Assist in analyzing & reacting to current trade and product performance for the department in order to propose opportunities to potentialize sales & minimize risk.

The Trainee Merchandise Buyer career opportunities are aimed at producing fully trained and equipped Retail Merchandiser Buyers for our business. The objective of your role will be to support the Buyer in sourcing the best merchandise at the best price, within the company’s strategy.
