Job summary

Pro Talent is seeking an experienced Trailer Mechanic to inspect, service and repair trailers and components with a strong focus on safety and quality. The role covers diagnosing faults, performing preventative maintenance, and ensuring all paperwork is accurately completed.

You will work under the Foreman and collaborate across the workshop team to meet turnaround times and maintain high standards in line with manufacturer specifications.

Qualifications

• Relevant trade qualification in Diesel/Motor/Heavy Vehicle Mechanics or related field.
• Minimum 2–3 years' relevant experience working on trailers or heavy commercial vehicles.
• BPW training or certification would be an advantage.
• Valid heavy vehicle licence; a general driver’s licence would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Inspect, service, maintain and repair trailers and components.
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, braking and suspension faults.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing.
• Work on trailer braking systems, axles, suspension and wheel-end assemblies.
• Inspect trailer structures, chassis, coupling equipment, lights, tyres and safety-related components.
• Complete job cards, inspection sheets, time records and workshop documentation accurately.
• Collaborate with Foreman, Workshop Manager, Parts Dept and Service Advisors to ensure efficient workflow.
• Report additional repairs, safety concerns, repeat faults and parts requirements promptly.
