Scope of Responsibility

The Traditional Trade Field Sales Manager is responsible for achieving sales targets through excellence in execution at the point of sale. They develop and support partnerships between Colgate-Palmolive and customers/distributors at national and regional levels, nurturing contacts and negotiating with store operations and in-store personnel.

The manager oversees all activities of third-party sales and merchandising providers to meet sales, distribution, volume growth, and market share targets. They play an integral role in driving customer and shopper demand.

Key Responsibilities
  • Building relationships with key contacts, such as operations and store managers, providing objective analysis to ensure optimal product exposure at store level.
  • Implementing and maintaining in-store tactics developed within category management partnerships.
  • Coordinating special events, store-level sell-in, communication, and materials management in cooperation with the Business Development Manager.
  • Conducting business reviews, follow-up on sales activity, new products, customer service, receivables, and claims.
  • Developing and executing customer plans to increase sales volume, distribution, and market share.
  • Working with logistics to plan, analyze, forecast customer needs, and ensure on-time delivery.
  • Monitoring activity at store level, communicating competitive and category information to proactively respond with strategies and tactics.
  • Tracking KPIs and taking actions to improve performance.
  • Managing in-store personnel, visiting stores regularly, providing coaching, and conducting appraisals.
  • Reviewing field sales and merchandiser itineraries to optimize resource deployment.
  • Providing direction and training to in-store staff.
  • Identifying training needs and developing training plans.
  • Developing tools, merchandising materials, and in-store programs for effective shelf management.
  • Supervising data collection to monitor performance against targets.
  • Ensuring in-store compliance with objectives, including product availability, assortment, pricing, promotion, shelf share, and planogram execution.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 5 years in Traditional Trade field operations within FMCG
  • Experience managing third-party sales agents
  • Proven performance with at least 3 years of increasing responsibilities in marketing, customer marketing, or sales, with strong customer relationships
