Job title : Trade Pharmacy Representative ( Pretoria West) - Contract Role

Job Location : Gauteng, Pretoria Deadline : August 30, 2025

The Opportunity

This position works out of our Roodepoort Offices, Abbott Place, in the Established Pharmaceutical Division, where we are committed to bringing the benefits of our trusted medicines to more people in the world’s fastest-growing countries. Our broad portfolio of high-quality and differentiated branded generic medicines reaches across multiple therapeutic areas including gastroenterology, women's health, cardiometabolic, pain management / central nervous system, and respiratory.

What You’ll Do :

  1. Design appropriate strategy to achieve sales goals and targets in assigned territory;
  2. Achieve sales, market share, and growth objectives in the region;
  3. Maintain satisfactory customer call rate, strike rate, and territory coverage;
  4. Compile and update sales operating plan for the region;
  5. Identify new business opportunities;
  6. Attend cycle meetings and conferences;
  7. Negotiate additional display areas and space, in line with marketing objectives, to enhance brand building activities;
  8. Build and maintain business relationships in-store / in practice with all personnel who impact the company’s business;
  9. Accurately take stock in-store utilizing customer stock cards as a tool in negotiating orders;
  10. Create impactful and appealing displays to help pharmacies move-through stock;
  11. Assist with merchandising: ensure stock is well presented, packed, and available to consumers (FIFO principle);
  12. Detail and train staff in-store, including healthcare professionals.

Required Qualifications

  • Tertiary qualification in Human Sciences, Marketing, or Business Management preferred;

Preference experience :

  • Minimum of 3 years pharmacy sales experience is mandatory;
  • Experience and established pharmacy relationships are essential;
  • Fluent in English and Afrikaans;
  • Strong sales track record, sound organizational skills, and time management skills;
  • History of superior territory coverage in Johannesburg is an advantage;
  • Positive attitude with a can-do spirit;
  • Integrity, initiative, and adaptability;
  • Entrepreneurial mindset;
  • Skilled negotiator, problem solver, and effective closer;
  • Ability to develop long-term business relationships;
