Job description

Understand the importance and conform to the requirements of the various health, safety, quality, and environment policies and procedures. Work upon multiple development projects as required.

Project Objectives

The objectives of these development projects typically aim to avoid or reduce costs, lower long- and short-term material supply risks, improve product and process performance, and develop new product offerings to the market.

Responsibilities

1. Lead plant Engineer on New Product Development (NPD) projects.
2. Provide analytical support during quality investigations (internal quality failures or external customer complaints).
3. Follow through on investigations from origin to implementation of countermeasures.
4. Assist with resolving process and product problems.
5. Write technical reports stating findings and recommendations to improve, rectify, change, replace, or adjust processes, formulations, and raw materials.
6. Drive implementation of approved recommendations.
7. Ensure the quality management system conforms to ISO standards.
8. Ensure processes deliver their intended outputs as defined in the QMS.
9. Report on QMS performance and opportunities for improvement.
10. Maintain adherence to document control for testing methods, SOPs, control plans, and reaction plans.
11. Sustain and improve the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and promote adherence to control and specifications.
12. Conduct plant and quality data analysis and modeling, moving towards predictive process control.
13. Build models using existing data to predict product quality and enable real-time adjustments.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate must have a bachelor's degree (BEng or equivalent). A qualification in quality control/management and internal auditing experience are advantageous.

Experience & Skills

• 3-5 years' experience in chemical, process, or quality engineering within a 24-hour plant.
• Computer literacy and WCM experience for internal applicants.
• Strong communication and analytical skills.

Role Objectives

The role aims to develop and introduce quality control and process improvements using tools within the Q&PC Pillar, linking through to Step Zero. The primary focus is on improving process performance KPIs, especially yield loss and customer complaints.

Additional Responsibilities

Involvement in WCM projects related to product quality, leading raw material trials, and new product developments.
