Job description

The toy library hub is located in Marshalltown, and the successful candidate will be responsible for driving and working with ECD centres in Soweto.

A valid driver's license and confidence in driving are prerequisites, as the organization will provide access to a company car.

Role:

To support operational duties in the toy library for a reputable not-for-profit organization.

The role involves ensuring the effective and quality implementation of all toy library programs and promoting early learning opportunities for children.

This is a 10-month contract starting from June 2025.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality front-line and inter-departmental service, including accurate and sensitive responses to client inquiries.
  • Assist with maintaining clerical and administrative systems for efficient toy library services.
  • Maintain the reception area, display tables, office, and kitchen in an organized manner.
  • Support planning and implementation of play sessions, including co-facilitation and engaging children in early learning activities.
  • Assist with preparing, rotating, and setting up play areas and resources.
  • Help with packing PG kits, preparing events, and maintaining resources and equipment.
  • Participate in meetings, training sessions, and implement acquired knowledge effectively.
  • Conduct self-assessments and use monitoring tools to evaluate performance.
  • Assist in building community relationships, promoting services, and networking with stakeholders.
  • Handle resources responsibly, including tracking, maintenance, repairs, and storage.
  • Follow safe methods for handling heavy equipment and lifting.
Knowledge and Experience:
