Job Summary:
As a Tour Agent within their internal office, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients with planning and booking their African adventures. You will provide exceptional customer service, expert guidance, and personalized recommendations to ensure each traveler's experience exceeds expectations. Working closely with our team of travel experts, you will contribute to the seamless execution of tour packages while promoting sustainable and responsible tourism practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Consultation: Engage with clients via phone, email, or in-person meetings to understand their travel preferences, interests, and budget constraints.
- Tailored Itinerary Planning: Use your knowledge of African destinations, attractions, and activities to create customized tour itineraries that align with clients' interests and requirements.
- Booking Coordination: Handle all aspects of booking arrangements, including flights, accommodations, transportation, activities, and travel insurance, ensuring accuracy and timely confirmation.
- Client Communication: Maintain regular communication with clients throughout the booking process, providing updates, answering inquiries, and addressing any concerns or special requests.
- Product Knowledge: Stay updated on travel trends, destination developments, and industry news to offer informed recommendations and enhance the customer experience.
- Documentation and Administration: Prepare all necessary travel documents, including itineraries, invoices, vouchers, and contracts, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
- Collaboration: Work collaboratively with internal teams, including sales, marketing, and operations, to optimize tour offerings, streamline processes, and improve service delivery.
- Customer Feedback: Solicit feedback from clients post-travel to assess satisfaction, identify areas for improvement, and gather testimonials for marketing.
- Crisis Management: Demonstrate flexibility and resourcefulness in handling unforeseen disruptions, emergencies, or issues during clients' trips.
- Promotion of Sustainable Tourism: Educate clients on responsible travel practices, environmental impact, supporting local communities, and respecting wildlife.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Tourism Management, Hospitality, or related field preferred.
- Experience in a similar travel industry role, with knowledge of tour operations and destination management.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport with diverse clients.
- Proficiency in travel booking systems such as Amadeus, Galileo, or Sabre.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Passion for travel and appreciation for African culture, wildlife, and landscapes.
- Fluency in English; additional languages, especially local African languages, are advantageous.
