Job summary

A leading company in the travel industry seeks an experienced travel consultant to manage bespoke safari itineraries. You will liaise with suppliers, deliver exceptional service, and drive quality control while also being available for emergency support. Ideal candidates possess a degree in Travel and Tourism along with significant consulting experience within Southern Africa.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Southern Africa inbound travel consulting.
  • Matric and a tertiary qualification in Travel and Tourism (Diploma or Degree preferred).
  • Proven sales experience, preferably direct to business/internal clients.

Responsibilities

  • Manage FIT and bespoke travel bookings from enquiry to final confirmation.
  • Ensure quick and accurate turnaround of travel quotes and documentation.
  • Engage with suppliers to confirm bookings, rates, and availability.

Job description

Manage quotes, liaise with suppliers, and deliver exceptional travel experiences from enquiry to execution for a premium tour operator specialising in bespoke Southern African safari itineraries.

Minimum Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Matric and a tertiary qualification in Travel and Tourism (Diploma or Degree preferred)
  • 5 years' experience in Southern Africa inbound travel consulting
  • Proficient in MS Office, travel booking systems and CRM platforms
  • Proven sales experience, preferably direct to business/internal clients
  • Experience managing supplier relationships and contract negotiations
  • Southern African travel exposure and e-marketing experience advatageous

Key Performance Areas:

  • Manage FIT and bespoke travel bookings from initial enquiry to final confirmation
  • Ensure quick and accurate turnaround of travel quotes and documentation
  • Deliver client service excellence to internal stakeholders and guests
  • Engage with suppliers to confirm bookings, rates, and availability
  • Drive quality control for itineraries, quotes, invoices, vouchers, and travel documents
  • Collaborate with operations to ensure seamless on-the-ground delivery
  • Recommend and develop new travel products based on industry trends
  • Resolve complaints and manage supplier disputes when needed
  • Contribute expert destination/product feedback internally
  • Be available for rotational 24-hour emergency support
