Toolmaker - With Edgecam Milling

Plastic Manufacturing company based in New Germany, Pinetown has a vacancy for a Toolmaker with Edgecam Milling programming experience and drawings on Fusion 360 and SolidWorks. Must reside in the Durban area to qualify for this position.

POSITION INFO :

Minimum requirements :

1. Grade 12
2. 8 years’ experience and more in injection moulding
3. Good command of the English language
4. Must reside in KZN, Durban
5. Edgecam programming is a must
6. CNC Milling is a must
7. Fusion 360 and SolidWorks for drawings
8. Knowledge of manufacturing, tooling, cutting tools, and machine parts
9. Basic math skills and working knowledge of advanced shop mathematics, including trigonometry

Duties :

1. Maintaining adequate repair supplies, tracking and recording repairs, modifications and inventory
2. Conduct change over and maintenance of production moulds and peripheral equipment
3. Support production needs through enhancing and upgrading existing production moulds
4. Debug new tooling and offer design enhancements as required
5. Operate all types of tool room equipment required to manufacture inserts as needed
6. Assisting in the reviewing new products and moulds for design for manufacturability
7. Assess and advance the development of current standards and practices
8. Autonomously plans and schedules own daily tasks, develops solutions to problems
9. Ability to read and interpret die, mould, and product drawings
10. Excellent communication skills and demonstrated problem solving ability
11. Identify complex tooling issues and effectively find solutions
12. Fabricate and maintain a variety of tools consistent with standard tool configuration
13. Make new parts for existing moulds using sketches, blueprints and CAD models
14. Aid in the preventative and routine maintenance of tooling and moulds
15. Use precise measuring equipment to hold medium and tight tolerances
16. Work efficiently under pressure
17. Follow maintenance procedures and record data
18. Work effectively with the quality department and all stakeholders for continuous improvements
19. Maintain optimal mould performance by identifying mould performance issues
20. Ability to work with Fusion 360 and SolidWorks design programmes
21. Ability to use CNC machine using HCAM software
