The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years in the manufacturing industry, proficient in operating various toolroom machinery, and capable of interpreting technical drawings. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and related machinery safely and efficiently.
• Manufacture and repair moulds, machine components, and related tooling to exact specifications.
• Conduct fault finding, troubleshooting, and liaise with management.

Minimum Qualifying Criteria :

• Grade 12 / N2 minimum
• Trade Tested Tool, Jig, and Die Maker (MERSETA)
• Minimum 10 years experience as a Toolmaker in the manufacturing industry

Technical Competencies :

Proficient in operating and maintaining all major toolroom machinery

Strong fault-finding and problem-solving capabilities

Sound understanding of technical drawings and specifications

Experience with extrusion blow moulding, injection, and stretch blow moulding machinery

Familiarity with plastic processing techniques is highly advantageous

Soft Skills :

Excellent verbal and written communication

High level of emotional intelligence and interpersonal effectiveness

Strong time management and organisational abilities

Roles and Responsibilities :

Toolroom Operations

Operate lathes, milling machines, grinders, and related machinery safely and efficiently

Manufacture and repair moulds, machine components, and related tooling to exact specifications

Conduct fault finding, troubleshooting, and liaise with management to resolve technical discrepancies

Mould & Component Maintenance

Interpret technical drawings and ensure production aligns with design requirements

Assess tooling from production and initiate maintenance work orders

Maintain orderly, safe, and efficient toolroom conditions

Reporting & Inventory Control

Maintain records, tool inventories, and ensure optimal availability of machining tools

Report performance updates in line with departmental standards

Health, Safety & Quality Compliance

Adhere to health and safety protocols and GMP standards

Report incidents, hazards, and ensure the cleanliness and safety of work areas

Comply with Bowler Plastics' Food Safety Management System (FSSC) and related principles

Continuous Improvement & Development

Remain current with new technologies, tools, and industry standards

Demonstrate leadership, teamwork, and strong communication with peers and management

Serve as a role model in quality, professionalism, and technical expertise
