A well-established and innovation-driven manufacturing company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Toolmaker to join their team at their Isando facility. With a commitment to operational excellence, quality products, and continuous improvement, the company offers a dynamic working environment focused on technical advancement and employee development.

Duties & Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Operating all Toolroom machinery efficiently, safely, and cost-effectively.
  • Manufacturing and repairing moulds, machine components, and related parts with precision.
  • Diagnosing faults and conducting troubleshooting on moulds and associated equipment.
  • Collaborating with management to align production needs and task schedules.
  • Ensuring all toolroom equipment and workspaces are maintained in a clean, safe condition.
  • Performing stock control and reporting for machining and cutting tools.
  • Complying with health, safety, GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices), and FSSC (Food Safety System Certification) standards.
  • Contributing to a culture of continuous improvement, safety awareness, and team collaboration.

Desired Experience & Qualification

Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Trade Test as Tool, Jig, and Die Maker (MERSETA certified)
  • N2 minimum qualification
  • At least 10 years experience in a Toolmaker role within the manufacturing industry
  • Extensive knowledge of Toolroom equipment, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, and CNC systems

Additional Competencies:

  • Strong interpretation of technical drawings
  • Effective fault-finding and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in verbal and written communication
  • High emotional intelligence and strong interpersonal skills
  • Sound understanding of Health & Safety standards
  • Experience with blow moulding, injection moulding, and stretch blow moulding is advantageous

Package & Remuneration

  • R300,000 p/a salary based on experience and qualifications
