Toolmaker

We're looking for a Red Seal Qualified Toolmaker / Jig and Dye Maker OR an unqualified person who has 5+ years' experience associated with toolmaking, including creating and repairing tools, molds, and fixtures.

This permanent position offers:

1. Salary: Basic + pension + medical aid
2. Work Hours: 08:00 - 16:30 (additional hours as needed by production)
3. Reporting Structure: Tool Room Foreperson
4. Location: Blackheath, Cape Town

In order to be considered, you need to meet the following requirements:

1. Matric / Grade 12 (or equivalent)
2. Qualified Toolmaker / Jig and Dye Maker with Red Seal OR 5 years' experience in Press tool and dye making in a manufacturing environment
3. Able to read and design from a drawing
4. Working knowledge of milling machine, lathe, hand tools, etc.
5. Knowledge of ISO procedures & requirements
6. Knowledge of H & S procedures
7. Good communication skills
8. Good attendance record (non-negotiable)
9. Able to work over-time (when required)
10. Medically fit (medicals will be conducted)

You will be required to perform the following duties:

1. Manufacture and maintain production tools
2. Conduct regular quality checks
3. General house-keeping
