Job description

1.1 The design, material planning, and fabrication of moulds and dies.

1.2 Design of dies or moulds based on a product sample.

1.3 Marking out the tool design on the 'stock' or casting following engineering drawings.

1.4 Cutting and shaping the part using a combination of lathes, presses, grinders, and cutting machines.

1.5 Checking the tool's dimensions with precision measuring instruments like micrometers and gauges.

1.6 Carrying out basic machine maintenance.

1.7 Maintaining proper asset records and files for all equipment, including machine identification, parts list, engineering drawings, and maintenance records.

1.8 Collaborating with the Maintenance Supervisor and production personnel to ensure preventive maintenance for optimal equipment availability.

1.9 Assisting the Maintenance Supervisor in preparing a list of critical spares and their suppliers for major plant and machinery.

1.10 Assisting the Manager of the Tool Room in managing the mould and die room.
