Tool, Jog & Die Maker (Toolmaker)

Our client in the manufacturing industry is recruiting for a Tool, Jig & Die Maker to attend to production tool maintenance, manufacture new tooling, and attend to breakdowns in accordance with the production plan through effective and efficient planning, organizing, and controlling the activities of his section/department.

Responsibilities:

• Qualifications:
• Grade 12
• Tool, Jig & Die Maker Trade Test
• 10 years’ experience in an engineering machining role
• Knowledge and experience with toolroom equipment
• Knowledge and understanding of engineering drawings
• Working knowledge of toolroom production machine tools and manufacturing methods

Position Info:

Roles and Responsibilities:

• Manufacture components using CNC Machine Centre and CNC Lathe
• Knowledge of centre lathe, milling machines, band saw, power saw, surface grinder, pedestal, and radial arm drilling machines
• Responsible for manufacturing tooling components, parts to specified drawings and samples
• Use of toolroom measuring equipment
• Machine to tight tolerances
• Block up steel to specific sizes
• Screw cut
• Work within a toolroom team environment, reading engineering drawings
• Work shifts as required to meet operational objectives
• Participate in training and development programs
