Job Summary
Seeking a highly skilled IT specialist for an exciting opportunity in a dynamic environment. This expert-level role focuses on delivering top-tier customer support for Managed IT Services, requiring extensive knowledge of hardware, software, cloud technology, server infrastructure, and network systems.
Experience & Skills Required
- 5+ years of experience in IT support, including Tier I and Tier II levels.
- Networking, Firewalls, Mikrotik, Cisco, Sophos, and Ishield.
- Microsoft ecosystems: implementation, administration, and support.
- Managed Service Provider experience and familiarity with ticketing systems.
- Advanced knowledge of Hyper-V, VMware, and Microsoft licensing.
- Backup technology, cloud technology, server infrastructure, and network systems expertise.
- Server, network, application, and virtual CIO support management.
- Deployment software (Microsoft WDS, MDT) and network protocols (TCP/IP, OSI model).
- Proficiency in Linux.
Certifications & Education
- MTCNA, A+/N+, Microsoft 365, Windows Server, ITIL.
- Diploma, degree, or relevant qualification in IT/Computing or equivalent work experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide expert-level support to resolve complex technical issues.
- Respond to customer needs via phone, remote diagnostics, or onsite visits.
- Implement and manage BCDR solutions and assist with cloud migrations (AWS, Azure).
- Install and manage server infrastructure, including DNS, DHCP, domain hosting, and virtualization.
- Manage Microsoft server licensing and Office 365 migrations.
- Configure and maintain network components such as wireless access points, firewalls, switches.
- Resolve complex system and network issues using advanced technical skills.
- Maintain positive relationships with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
- Participate in on-call rotation for escalations.
- Perform additional duties as required.
Skills & Requirements
- Strong customer service skills, with fluency in English and understanding of Afrikaans.
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft OS and Office 365.
- Willingness to travel to client sites; company provides a vehicle.
- Ability to diagnose and fix software issues, OS problems, and application errors.
- Proficient in identifying and preventing viruses & malware.
- Understanding of printer and server settings.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Assist sales team with tech insights, quotes, and upselling.
- Adherence to policies and keeping systems updated.
- Share knowledge and continue learning to grow professionally.
