Job description

Job Title: Tier 2 IT Support Engineer(Fully Remote – South Africa)

Working Hours: Full-time - Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 7:00 PM (UK hours)8-hour shift including a 30-minute lunch break

Salary: R35,000 – R38,000 per month (Depending on Experience)

About the Role

We’re looking for an experienced and self-motivated Tier 2 IT Support Engineer to join a fully remote team supporting UK-based clients. In this role, you’ll handle escalated technical issues, manage system troubleshooting, and ensure smooth resolution across various platforms, all while delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide second-line technical support across a range of systems, platforms, and applications

  • Troubleshoot hardware, software, and cloud-related issues (Windows OS, M365, Azure, etc.)

  • Resolve technical incidents independently or escalate to specialised teams where appropriate

  • Maintain accurate records of support requests and updates within the ticketing system

  • Support and guide Tier 1 staff where needed, and contribute to internal knowledge bases

  • Communicate effectively with users and team members to ensure timely resolution within SLAs

Skills & Experience Required:
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Tier 2 or second-line support, preferably within an MSP environment

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Windows Server, and virtualisation tools (Hyper-V or VMware)

  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, and firewalls (e.g., SonicWall, WatchGuard)

  • Hands-on experience with Intune, Exchange Online, SharePoint, and remote support tools

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities
