Theatre trained/experienced Nurses in Upington

Job Summary:

We are looking for compassionate and skilled Theatre Nurses to join our client’s surgical team. The ideal candidate should have either formal training or extensive experience in theatre nursing, demonstrating proficiency in perioperative care and a commitment to patient safety. This role involves caring for patients throughout the surgical process, from preoperative preparation to postoperative recovery.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preoperative Care:
   - Conduct thorough assessments of patients’ medical history and physical condition before surgery.
   - Collaborate with the surgical team to prepare individualized care plans for each patient.
   - Educate patients and their families about the surgical procedure, expected outcomes, and post-operative care.
2. Intraoperative Care:
   - Set up and maintain a sterile operating environment, ensuring all instruments and supplies are available and properly positioned.
   - Assist surgeons and anaesthetists during procedures, including passing instruments and managing equipment as needed.
   - Monitor patients’ vital signs, anaesthesia levels, and overall well-being throughout the surgical procedure, promptly reporting any concerns to the surgical team.
3. Postoperative Care:
   - Provide immediate postoperative care, monitoring patients as they recover from anaesthesia and ensuring their safety.
   - Educate patients and families on postoperative care instructions and potential complications to be aware of.
   - Document nursing care provided and maintain accurate patient records as required.
