Job Description

The Management Accountant is a vital role in ensuring the optimal performance of the finance function within the Service Divisions (Group Store Development, Property, and TFG Facilities Management).

They will provide critical support to the Finance Business Partner, enabling informed decision-making and strategic business outcomes.

Key responsibilities include preparing and analysing financial data, extracting insights, and contributing to value-added initiatives that drive business growth and profitability. The Management Accountant's expertise will shape financial management practices, identify opportunities for improvement, and inform strategic decisions impacting the organization's success.

This role involves supporting financial management and value-adding activities undertaken by the Finance Business Partner.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Preparation and analysis of management reports and financial performance for operational, capital, and project expenditure
  • Analysis of standard monthly management reports
  • Analysis of service/maintenance contract variances
  • Assist with rent/utilities and depreciation budgets
  • Preparation of fixed and sales-based rent calculations for all stores
  • Preparation of lease pipeline reports
  • Assist with store project/asset reconciliations
  • Analyze projects/assets for correct allocations and ensure correct tax deductions
  • Assist with projections, budgets, forecasts, and month-end activities
  • Assist with integrated financial planning
  • Manage sundry cost centre activities
  • Prepare or assist with ad hoc financial reports required by management or the Board
  • Oversee actualized and forecasted store build rates
  • Assist with Capex/project presentations for divisional operations and HOB
  • Conduct cost analysis to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Oversee various recharges
Qualifications and Experience:
  • BCom Degree in Accounting/Management Accounting or equivalent; CIMA qualification is advantageous
  • Proven management accounting experience (>5 years)
  • SAP/Coupa experience (preferable)
  • Excellent knowledge of advanced Excel
  • Strong understanding of financial principles, standards, and analysis techniques
  • Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills with attention to detail
  • Effective communication skills for presenting complex financial information
  • Ability to collaborate and build relationships with stakeholders
  • Adaptability to a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities
