Job summary

Qualifications

• Matric is required.
• 1–3 years buying/procurement experience, preferably in clothing/textiles.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Proficient in MS Office; ERP/purchasing systems experience advantageous.
• Excellent organisational skills and high attention to detail.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Strong communication across departments.

Responsibilities

• Purchase fabric, trims, packaging, and other production materials per approved requirements.
• Liaise with Production/Planning on material needs and delivery dates.
• Ensure timely ordering to prevent production delays.
• Monitor supplier lead times and flag delays proactively.
• Source alternative materials or suppliers when needed.
• Ensure materials meet specs and quality standards.
• Review stock needs with Stores/Warehouse to identify shortages.
• Monitor stock levels to avoid overstocking or obsolescence.
• Process purchase requisitions and orders accurately.
• Maintain complete purchasing records and supplier quotations.
• Match purchase orders with invoices and delivery docs.
• Capture and maintain pricing information.
• Provide purchasing reports to management as required.
• Maintain confidentiality of supplier pricing and information.
