Job description

To continue our expansion, we’re adding a strong intermediate to senior level Test Engineer to our Maccs engineering team. Based in Cape Town, this is a hybrid role which requires regular weekly attendance in our Cape Town office.

You will be involved in all aspects of testing from analysis, functional testing, maintaining and creating regression tests until documenting.

The film sector is an exciting place to be and offers many possibilities to use your creativity and share your ideas. You'll also be doing this in an informal, pleasant atmosphere, with a flat reporting structure, with a market competitive salary matching your knowledge and experience.

The ability to speak Dutch at a fluent or advanced business level, would be highly beneficial.

What are you going to do?

• Your daily work consists of all aspects of testing: from analysis, functional testing, maintaining and creating regression tests until documenting.
• You work together with a team of enthusiastic colleagues who have recently launched a new promising web application that will be used worldwide.
• You actively participate in team meetings, together you ensure a satisfied customer.

The company

Maccs provides services and develops software for film distribution, such as data systems for bookings and distribution and settlement of film licenses worldwide. Used by over 90 distributors to distribute films in over 50 territories around the world, our clients range from small, independent distributors to major global studios. Several large international film companies, such as Warner Bros, Paramount Pictures, Universal and Pathé are among our clientele.

MACCS is part of the Vista Group (New Zealand).

Who are you?

• You have experience with testing web/cloud solutions and Agile/Scrum.
• You are able to understand complex systems and define tests for it.
• You are creative enough to think along about new solutions and functionalities.
• You have a solid knowledge of testing REST API’s and knowledge of the Cypress framework and Typescript.
• It is an advantage if you have experience with AWS and SQL.
• You preferably have a ISTQB certificate and at least 5 years of experience as a tester.
• You are communicative and above all enthusiastic and ambitious.

This is a hybrid role which includes weekly, 2 days per week, attendance in our Cape Town office.
