Test Engineer

Job Description

Job Purpose:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and quality-driven Test Engineer who is passionate about continuous product improvement, system reliability, and customer satisfaction. You will take ownership of test activities, working closely with delivery teams to execute comprehensive and efficient testing in line with best practices and company standards. The role requires the ability to create accurate test plans, execute test cases effectively, and proactively manage issues and risks throughout the testing lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop a strong understanding of the systems under test and how our customers use them.
• Create accurate test estimates and manage test planning efficiently within project timelines.
• Produce and maintain test artifacts that optimize testing efficiency while ensuring full requirements coverage.
• Execute various testing methodologies including rapid, risk-based, exploratory, regression, security, usability, and performance testing.
• Utilize and maintain test automation frameworks, developing scripts using tools such as Postman, Playwright, JavaScript, and JMeter.
• Identify, document, and track defects; communicate risks and issues effectively during testing phases.
• Report metrics and quality updates regularly to the Test Team Lead.
• Share knowledge and mentor junior testers; stay current with new testing techniques and tools.

Skills & Experience:

• 3-5 years of hands-on experience in functional testing of software products.
• Intermediate understanding of web application testing.
• Attention to detail and a quality-focused mindset.
• Effective task prioritization, time management, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Experience with Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with automation tools like Postman, Playwright, JavaScript, and JMeter for API, UI, and performance testing.
• Desirable: experience in performance/security testing; knowledge of finance, payroll, or HR domains; ability to write basic SQL queries.

Technical & Professional Qualifications:

• ISTQB Foundation certification or equivalent.
• Desirable: SQL query writing and execution skills.
