Sr Test Engineer – Denodo & Snowflake

On-site in Johannesburg

3-6 months contract

Role Summary Seeking an experienced QA professional to lead validation efforts across data virtualization and warehousing platforms, with expertise in Denodo and Snowflake-based reporting. The role involves test planning, data validation, regression testing, and supporting seamless report deployment across multiple environments.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute test strategies for reports built on Denodo and Snowflake
• Review functional specs, mapping documents, and transformation logic for completeness and accuracy
• Perform thorough validation of source-to-report data flow, aggregations, and business rules
• Manage defect triage and resolution cycles via ADO or Jira
• Collaborate with developers, data analysts, and business stakeholders to align on report definitions and release readiness
• Support QA sign-off and pre-/post-deployment checklist for production releases

Skills & Experience

• 6–10 years of QA/Testing experience, with focus on data warehousing and BI report validation
• Strong knowledge of Denodo virtual views and Snowflake data pipelines
• Proficient in writing and reviewing SQL queries for data validation
• Hands-on experience with Excel-based test logs, peer review protocols, and QA automation (optional)
• Familiarity with Agile delivery and tracking tools like Azure DevOps and Jira

Preferred

• Experience testing dashboard KPIs, client-facing reports, and regulatory extracts
• Exposure to sprint-based delivery models with cross-functional coordination
• Ability to define and maintain Acceptance Criteria and Definition of Done checklists
