Role Purpose

The Tester will be responsible for developing user acceptance testing (UAT) test scripts, ensuring traceability of scripts to requirements and design artefacts, executing the UAT plan, documenting UAT testing results, and providing support to end users.

Requirements

1. Matric
2. Minimum ISTQB Foundation phase qualification in Software Testing or equivalent qualifications (advantageous).
3. Extensive experience as a functional test analyst (advantageous).
4. Minimum three years' experience working as a tester (advantageous).
5. Previous relevant experience in Short-Term Insurance (advantageous).
6. Previous relevant experience in a test or technical support environment (advantageous).
7. Test Preparation and Execution experience (preferably within business applications and processes).
8. Strong problem solving and good analytical skills (defect analysis and reporting).
9. Strong attention to detail.
10. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
11. Ability to interact with databases via SQL (advantageous).
12. Track record of successful project completion working in a team.
13. Good knowledge of software development lifecycle and defect resolution processes in particular.
14. Ability to multi-task and test different applications relating to a release.
15. Good time management skills and the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Duties & Responsibilities

1. Perform User Acceptance Testing of the functional requirements of the Premia system and all Integration systems.
2. Review & Inspect functional requirements.
3. Write test cases in line with standard requirements from specification received.
4. Documentation of UAT test scenarios, test cases and test scripts.
5. Implement test cases in line with requirements in specification.
6. Design test plan in accordance with specification documents.
7. Document test plan (resources needed, risks identified, test data used, when should testing stop, list of functionalities to be tested).
8. Create and/or acquire test data.
9. Identification and analysis of software defects.
10. Perform the required defect tracking and/or management thereof.
11. Ensure all risks are mitigated and escalated accordingly.
12. Report to the Test manager and Project Manager - results, test metrics etc.
13. Test Summary Report; Defect Report according to bugs logged on Jira or other Incident reporting platforms.
14. In parallel with testing responsibilities, assist in the delivery of monthly/quarterly reporting on the testing results.
15. Provide training/support to Operations for all applications and services developed and maintained.
16. Update relevant documentation that has gone out-of-date.
17. Work with Operations to ensure the quality of delivered software as well as ensuring timely bug resolution.
