A leading security services firm in Johannesburg is looking for a Tender and Procurement Specialist to manage tender processes and identify new opportunities. The ideal candidate has over 5 years of experience in related roles and a tertiary qualification in Business Admin or similar. Strong communication and negotiation skills are essential for this role, along with proficiency in MS Office. The successful candidate will help grow the business pipeline through effective tender management and client relations.
Identify and source new tender opportunities across various platforms (CSD, eTenders, municipal portals, private procurement sites, etc.).
Manage end-to-end tender processes including, Registration of interest, Document collection and review, Coordinating, compiling, proofreading and submitting tender documentation.
Monitor and manage all vendor registrations, ensuring the business is registered and up-to-date on relevant databases.
Maintain and organise all compliance documents (B-BBEE, Tax Clearance, COID, CIPC, Letter of Good Standing, etc.).
Ensure a central tender tracking system and calendar is kept up to date with deadlines, status updates, and outcomes.
Assist with client onboarding processes following successful bids.
Liaise and coordinate with multiple departments (Operations, Finance, HR, Technical, Legal) for input required for each tender.
Perform market research to identify new business opportunities, market gaps, and industry trends.
Prepare and maintain a database of standard documents and frequently used bid content for efficient turnaround.
Assist in compiling company profiles, capability statements, and marketing materials when required.
Track and report on tender performance.
Support relationship-building initiatives with current and potential clients to grow the business pipeline.
Negotiating contracts by participating in negotiations to secure favourable contract terms.
Candidate Requirements : Minimum of 5 years experience in a similar tender, procurement, or business development role.
Experience in the security industry advantageous.
Tertiary qualification in Business Admin, Supply Chain, Procurement or related field.
Excellent understanding of South African public procurement procedures and relevant platforms.
Proven ability to prepare high-quality, compliant, and compelling tenders.
Strong attention to detail, time management and the ability to work independently under pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
