Job Position: Temporary Supplier Readiness Engineer (automotive)

Location: PE/Gqeberha

Salary: R40000 to R60000 per month, commensurate with qualification and experience

Qualifications / Requirements:
  1. Technical Degree/Diploma in an Engineering field (Mechanical / Electrical / Mechatronics / Polymer)
  2. Minimum of 5 years of experience in key technologies such as plastics, plastic injection moulding, and/or manufacturing processes
  3. Experience in tool manufacturing and/or design and/or project management
Essential:
  • Extensive experience in Project Management and technical proficiency
  • Ability to interpret technical data and drawings
  • Negotiation and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite
  • Project management skills
  • Customer interface and conflict resolution skills
  • Self-motivated and driven
Added Advantage:

  • Experience in Pilot Hall or Supplier Quality
Note:

The successful candidates must be willing to travel both nationally and internationally. Be prepared to work outside of standard office hours as required.

Key Performance Areas:
  1. Monitor and control local part development at suppliers for critical parts
  2. Support corporate milestones according to PEP
  3. Ensure supplier readiness and capability to support corporate milestones with parts for various builds
  4. Ensure on-time submission of sample parts with all legal and supporting documentation
  5. Conduct regular discussions with suppliers and toolmakers for early planning and monitoring
  6. Negotiate project timelines and set secondary milestones
  7. Provide consulting on tooling, facility designs, and manufacturing processes
  8. Ensure suppliers can supply parts timely, with functional tooling and equipment, meeting capacity requirements
  9. Communicate effectively regarding issues and progress internally and with suppliers
