Job Description

The South African Sugar Association (SASA) has a temporary 6-month contract vacancy for a Procurement Manager, based at Mount Edgecombe, KwaZulu-Natal.

  • Division: Finance and Administration – Procurement Department
  • Reporting To: Finance Manager
  • Contract Duration: 6 months (Temporary / Fixed term)

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Manager to join our Finance and Administration division on a 6-month contract to focus exclusively on tender-related activities. This is a key role within the Procurement department, requiring hands-on management and coordination of all tender processes to support our organization’s strategic objectives

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Manage the end-to-end tender process including preparation, submission, and compliance monitoring
  • Coordinate with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure tender requirements are met accurately and timely
  • Review tender documentation and ensure adherence to company policies and legal requirements
  • Develop and maintain tender schedules and reporting tools to track progress and outcomes
  • Liaise with suppliers, evaluate bids, and provide recommendations for award decisions
  • Maintain procurement records and documentation related to tenders
  • Support Finance Manager with procurement-related reporting and audits as needed

Requirements:

  • Proven experience managing procurement processes with a strong focus on tenders
  • Sound knowledge of procurement regulations, tender legislation, and best practices
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities
  • Ability to work independently and deliver results within tight deadlines
  • Availability to start immediately and commit to the full 6-month contract duration
