Job Title

Temperature Screener for Covid-19

Reporting To

Branch Managers

Main Purpose of the Job

To screen all visitors, contractors, and employees before entering the property to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

Key Performance Areas
  1. Observe all visitors, contractors, and employees for cold, flu, and respiratory symptoms before entering the facility.
  2. Check temperatures of all visitors, contractors, and employees using a no-contact thermometer.
  3. Record all results; identify those not permitted on the property and submit reports to the Branch Manager.
  4. Enforce Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at facility entrances.
  5. Allow or deny entrance into the workplace based on screening outcomes.
  6. Maintain logs of individuals refusing temperature checks or questions, and report to the Branch Manager.
  7. Comply with all safety policies, including wearing required PPE.
  8. Participate in COVID-19 training sessions on screening, PPE, safe work practices, and hygiene.
  9. Monitor stock levels of masks, thermometer covers, and ensure thermometers are functioning properly.
Required Minimum Qualifications

Matric (NQF level 4) plus Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety or Nursing/Paramedic qualification.

Required Minimum Work Experience

1-3 years in healthcare, office, or facility environment; clinical experience and Occupational Health and Safety knowledge are advantageous.

Additional Requirements
  • Ability to start immediately.
  • Commitment to work five days a week, Monday to Friday, with specified hours.
  • Ability to work outdoors and wear PPE as required.
