Food & Beverages Packaging Operations Learnership x 2

Applications are invited for the 14-month Food & Beverages Packaging Operations Learnership based at Heineken Beverages Gqeberha Manufacturing. This qualification enables individuals to perform basic operations on an automated food & beverage packaging line within set manufacturing requirements.

The Learnership Entails The Following Outcomes
  1. Understanding basic machine operations in a manufacturing and/or packaging environment.
  2. Monitoring critical control points (CCPs) as part of the HACCP system.
  3. Performing quality control practices in food or consumer product operations.
  4. Competence in 3 Machine Workplace Observations on an automated food & beverage packaging line, including (based on operational requirements):
  5. Washing
  6. Filling
  7. Sealing
  8. Labelling
  9. Palletizing
  10. Depalletizing
  11. Performing first line maintenance
  12. Applying problem-solving techniques
  13. Demonstrating effective communication skills and information interpretation
  14. Mathematics abilities
  15. Attending classes and completing assessments with a minimum pass rate of 70%
Minimum Requirements
  1. Unemployed at the time of application
  2. Passed Grade 12 with Mathematics (not Maths Literacy) and English
  3. Relevant experience in a production/high-speed packaging environment (advantageous)
  4. Knowledge of safe working procedures
  5. Proven verbal and written communication skills
  6. Ability to work independently and under pressure
  7. Physical ability to cope with the demands of the learnership
  8. Willingness to work shifts and overtime when required
  9. Adherence to Heineken Beverages Code of Business Conduct
  10. Successful applicants will be offered a Fixed-term Contract
