Temp General Accountant

Are you a detail-driven accounting professional with a passion for accuracy and financial integrity? NOV Africa is looking for a Temporary GL Accountant to join our Centralized Accounting Team and support our finance operations across the NOV Group of companies. Reporting to the Africa Support Controller, you will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards.

What You'll Do:

1. Perform monthly reconciliations for accounts receivable, accounts payable, fixed assets, leases, and inventory
2. Prepare and ensure the timely submission of financial reports (monthly, quarterly, and annual)
3. Maintain balance sheet reconciliations and resolve discrepancies
4. Apply IFRS and US GAAP principles while ensuring compliance with internal controls and statutory requirements
5. Assist with tax and financial audits
6. Provide financial analysis and collaborate with operational teams

What We're Looking For:

1. Education: Bachelor's degree or higher in Accounting or Finance
2. Experience: 3-5 years of general accounting experience in a commercial environment
3. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of IFRS, familiarity with US GAAP & SOX reporting is a plus
4. Detail-Oriented: Organized with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
5. Team Player: Able to work independently, meet deadlines, and collaborate with cross-functional teams
6. Tech-Savvy: Proficient in Microsoft Office and experienced with ERP systems
7. Languages: Fluency in English required, French is an advantage
