Pay Range: $15-$19.86
Full-time: 30hrs a Week
What will you do?
- Tellers act as service representatives responsible for providing a variety of paying and receiving functions, including processing deposits, withdrawals, loan payments, cashier’s checks, money orders, and cash advances.
- Responsible for balancing each day’s transactions and verifying cash totals.
- Establishes and builds member relationships by identifying members’ needs and educating them about specific products and/or services. Enthusiastically cross-sells Credit Union services.
- Performs a broad variety of member services functions such as opening and closing accounts, renewing certificates, and assisting members with bookkeeping and account maintenance.
- Certified Tellers should be able to resolve more complex member transactions independently and refer members as necessary.
- Helps members via all channels such as phone, mail, text, email, and assists with video solutions and self-serve channels.
- Actively promotes and cross-sells digital services to members and serves as a digital services expert in the branch.
- Performs various clerical functions and assists other Service Representatives as required.
- Serves members promptly and professionally.
- Attains expected sales, volume, and service baselines to support branch goals.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently perform teller functions accurately in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Maintain privacy of member account information.
- Perform a wide variety of teller paying and receiving functions both in person and via mail, including share deposits, loan payments, transfers, cash advances, traveler’s checks, cashier’s checks, and money orders.
- Disburse cash or check share withdrawals, process and post CDs, HSA’s, and IRAs.
- Verify transactions, monitor deposit amounts, examine documents, and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Make risk assessments of negotiable items within authority limits.
- Balance daily transactions and verify cash totals, investigate out-of-balance conditions.
- Certified Tellers may provide override functions within defined limits.
- Provide effective and professional member service, including sales and cross-selling.
- Perform all member service functions per policies, maintain a professional reputation.
- Identify sales opportunities, cross-sell products, and assist with onboarding new members.
- Handle complex transactions and account issues, referring to leadership as needed.
- Engage with members through all communication channels professionally, establishing relationships.
- Open/close accounts, process stop-payments, and handle account changes.
- Act as a branch expert for electronic services.
- Promote digital services, answer questions, and resolve issues.
- Assist with maintenance of self-serve machines and video equipment.
- Help members with account lockouts, PIN/password resets, and digital transaction needs.
- Maintain effective relationships with personnel and management.
- Assist colleagues, keep management informed, and participate in training and meetings.
- Follow safety, security, and audit procedures.
Performance measurements include member focus, teller performance, attendance, job knowledge, professionalism, teamwork, sales, and adherence to core values.
Qualifications
Training/Education/Certification:
- High school graduate or equivalent.
Experience Required:
- None required; retail or financial experience preferred.
Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent communication and willingness to assist.
- Ability to recognize and offer sales opportunities.
- Professional appearance and attitude.
- Strong math skills, attention to detail, and accuracy.
- Ability to operate related software and equipment including 10-key, counters, cash machines, and digital devices.
