About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Telecoms Network Engineer to join their on-site team in Kimberley . You will be responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance of our telecommunications network infrastructure, ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security. This role is crucial for supporting the growing needs of our client's operations within the Northern Cape region. Working directly from our Kimberley facilities, you will contribute to the stability and advancement of our network, playing a key part in the local telecoms landscape and ensuring reliable connectivity for our services.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware and software, including routers, switches, and firewalls.
• Monitor network performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement solutions to optimize speed and reliability.
• Troubleshoot network issues and outages, performing root cause analysis and implementing fixes.
• Develop and maintain network documentation, diagrams, and configurations.
• Implement and enforce network security policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• 3-5 years of experience as a Telecoms Network Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing protocols (e.g., BGP, OSPF), and switching technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring tools and diagnostic techniques.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
