Client Manager Job Description
The client manager is responsible for managing accounts by analyzing clients' situations and business requirements through awareness, empathy, and effective questioning.
They have the ability to influence clients to utilize company solutions by clearly articulating value in terms that resonate with the client.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Take ownership of clients: Manage a range of accounts within domestic, mid-market, or international segments, advocating for client needs while aiming to increase revenue and improve margins.
- Develop account strategy: Use engagement skills to establish strategies with key stakeholders, building enduring relationships and understanding the client’s industry, business environment, and strategy.
- Ensure client satisfaction: Drive satisfaction throughout the client’s buying process, taking ownership of the commercial agreement for each client.
- Generate demand from clients: Help clients identify current needs and articulate how the company’s services and solutions can add value.
- Develop and grow profitability: Approach account management systematically to develop and grow accounts profitably.
- Vulnerability analysis: Conduct analyses of the company's position relative to competitors and vendors.
- Effective use of sales tools and methodologies: Utilize company sales tools to manage accounts, opportunities, pipelines, and forecasts effectively.
- Ensure governance: Develop and align governance and compliance policies to identify and manage risks.
- Ensure financial compliance: Monitor and control financial governance and compliance to manage costs.
- Behavioral skills: Work effectively in teams, manage work processes, and contribute ideas for improvement.
Skill Requirements
- Qualification in Sales (Degree or Advanced Diploma) – advantageous
- 4–6 years of work experience
- At least 2 years in a sales environment
