Placements24 seeks a Telecommunications Solutions Architect to design and deliver enterprise telecommunications solutions in a fully remote role. You will architect networks, VoIP, UC, and cloud integrations for clients across Pretoria, Gauteng and beyond, translating complex requirements into tangible business outcomes.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in telecom network design and solutions architecture, deep IP networking and cloud experience (AWS/Azure), and strong communication skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design and development of comprehensive telecommunications solutions, encompassing network, voice, data, and cloud services.
• Collaborate closely with sales, engineering, and product teams to understand client requirements and business objectives.
• Translate complex technical requirements into detailed solution designs and proposals.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies, platforms, and vendors to meet solution objectives.
• Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, cost-effective, and aligned with the company's strategic goals.
• Develop and present technical architecture documentation, including diagrams, specifications, and implementation plans.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance throughout the sales cycle and project implementation phases.

Requirements

• Master's or Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in telecommunications network design and solutions architecture.
• In-depth knowledge of IP networking, VoIP, unified communications, mobile technologies (4G/5G), and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
• Experience with SDN/NFV, SD-WAN, and cybersecurity principles in a telecommunications context.
• Proven ability to architect complex, end-to-end solutions for enterprise clients.
• Strong understanding of service provider network infrastructure and protocols.
• Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Demonstrated experience in a remote work setting, with strong self-management skills.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., Cisco CCDE, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) are highly desirable.
