Placements24 is seeking a Lead Telecom Solutions Architect for a fully remote role within South Africa. You will define technical direction for next-gen network services, focusing on scalable, secure, and cost-effective architectures.

You’ll mentor engineers, drive roadmaps, and collaborate across product, engineering and operations. You must have 10+ years in telecom network architecture, deep IP/MPLS and 4G/5G experience, and strong cloud/container expertise.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• 10+ years of progressive experience in telecommunications network architecture and design.
• Experience designing and deploying large-scale IP/MPLS networks, mobile core networks (4G/5G), or cloud-based telecom solutions.
• Strong SDN/NFV knowledge and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Familiar with ETSI, 3GPP, TM Forum standards; excellent leadership, communication and presentation skills.

Key Responsibilities
