The role involves installing, testing, and maintaining fiber optic and copper cabling, configuring routers and switches, and ensuring robust connectivity for business and residential sites.

You will read diagrams, perform diagnostics, and troubleshoot faults while prioritizing safety and quality. Travel within Gauteng is expected.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in telecommunications network installation or a related field.
• Solid understanding of fiber optic and copper cabling technologies.
• Proficiency with network testing and diagnostic tools (e.g., OTDR, cable testers).
• Ability to read and interpret network schematics and blueprints.
• Experience with installing and configuring network hardware (routers, switches).
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to travel within the Gauteng region as required.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, and test fiber optic cables and copper cabling in various environments, including commercial buildings and outdoor locations.
• Mount and configure telecommunications equipment such as routers, switches, and access points.
• Perform network testing and diagnostics to identify and resolve connectivity issues.
• Read and interpret network diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications for installations in Pretoria.
• Troubleshoot and repair network infrastructure faults to ensure optimal performance and uptime.
