Qualifications

• Technical qualification in Electronics, Telecommunications, IT Networking, or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in telecommunications network installation or structured cabling.
• Experience with fiber optic and copper cabling installation, termination and testing.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and certify fiber optic and copper network cabling infrastructure.
• Mount and configure routers, switches, servers, and access points.
• Perform site surveys to assess installation requirements and plan deployment.
• Troubleshoot and resolve connectivity issues, signal degradation, and hardware malfunction.
• Interpret network diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications for installation purposes.
• Ensure installations comply with industry standards, safety regulations, and client-specific requirements.
• Maintain accurate documentation of network infrastructure, including cable pathways, termination points, and equipment configurations.
• Respond to service calls for network issues and perform necessary repairs or upgrades.
• Collaborate with project managers and engineers to ensure successful project completion.
• Adhere to all safety protocols while working at heights, in confined spaces, or with electrical equipment.

Requirements

• Familiarity with networking hardware (routers, switches, firewalls) and their basic configuration.
• Ability to read and understand technical drawings, blueprints, and schematics.
• Proficiency in using specialized installation and testing tools (e.g., OTDR, cable testers).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be able to work in the Bloemfontein area, with occasional travel within the Free State province.
• A valid driver's license is required.
