You will monitor changes, advise on compliance programs, manage regulatory filings, and interface with regulators, while communicating complex legal concepts to non‑legal stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Admitted Attorney of the High Court with 5+ years post-qualification experience.
• Specialized experience in regulatory law within the telecom sector.
• Knowledge of SA telecom legislation, ICASA regulations, and competition law.
• Ability to communicate complex regulatory issues to non-legal audiences.
• Experience interacting with regulatory bodies is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Provide expert legal advice on compliance and regulatory matters in telecom.
• Monitor and interpret legislation, regulations, and industry codes; advise on impact.
• Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs and policies.
• Manage regulatory filings and submissions to authorities (e.g., ICASA).
• Represent the company in regulatory proceedings, investigations, and consultations.
• Advise on competition law, consumer protection, and data privacy in telecom context.
• Conduct legal risk assessments and provide mitigation strategies.
• Develop and deliver training on compliance and regulatory issues to internal stakeholders.
• Review marketing materials and new product launches for regulatory compliance.
• Manage relationships with regulatory bodies and industry associations.
