Job summary

Placements24 in Stellenbosch seeks a Telecommunications Field Engineer to support our network infrastructure in the Western Cape. You will install, configure, and maintain telecom equipment and perform site surveys to ensure reliable service for clients.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Telecommunications Field Engineer or similar role.
Strong understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN and wireless technologies.
Familiarity with fiber optics, copper cabling, and installation practices.
Ability to read diagrams, blueprints and specifications.
Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within Western Cape.

Responsibilities

Install, configure, and test telecommunications equipment (routers, switches, antennas, fiber optic systems).
Perform regular maintenance and troubleshooting on network infrastructure.
Conduct site surveys and assess installation requirements.
Diagnose and resolve voice and data communication issues.
Ensure work adheres to standards, safety regulations, and client specs.
