Job summary

BDO Wave is seeking a Technology Risk and Assurance Manager in Cape Town (CBD) to lead IT audit delivery for external engagements and to develop the TRA team. You will guide controls testing, governance reviews, and reporting while collaborating with partners and clients to raise delivery standards.

The role emphasizes inspirational leadership, client service excellence, and driving innovative risk-assurance methods within a growing TRA practice in the Western Cape.

Qualifications

• Experience with IT General Controls and business process control activities.
• Integrating controls testing and data analytics into an external audit approach.
• Interpreting the financial audit impact of IT risks and control weaknesses.
• Cyber risk management and business resilience.
• IT system implementation risks and controls.
• IT Governance and IT Compliance Reviews.
• Service Auditor Reporting.
• Scoping and planning our tech-enabled audit approaches to address audit risk in the most effective way.
• Reviewing the work performed by the team so that high-quality audit standards are maintained.
• Providing insightful reporting to our internal and external stakeholders.
• Coordinating and supporting our regional TRA team to support both the current and future pipeline of work.
• Inspirational People Management: Inspire, coach and develop the team will be essential.
• Exceptional Client Service Delivery: We pride ourselves on our client service standards.
• Innovation: Contribute to the development of methodologies and guidance for internal use.

Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of IT audit requirements for External Audits.
• Oversee the delivery of high-quality work and develop team members.
• Coordinate and support regional TRA team to back current and future work pipeline.
• Embed strong project and financial management across the team.
• Provide insightful reporting to internal and external stakeholders and escalate as needed.
